ET is taking a look back at the biggest divorces of last year and looking ahead at whether 2009 will be another big year for Hollywood splits.
The biggest divorce news came at the end of of 2008 when the marriage of Madonna and Guy Ritchie unravelled in mid-October. It was thought that financial and custody issues could lengthen the divorce process, but OK! magazine’s Laura Lane says the British courts had nearly made it official by year’s end. "Surprisingly the divorce is almost done and everything will be finalized in early 2009," Lane said.
Earlier this month, Ivana Trump announced her separation from Rossano Rubicondi, whom she married last April. "This is her fourth husband, and she’ll quickly get this over with in 2009," Lane said.

In his recent blog, the hip hop artist says he is staying home this New Year’s Eve for the first time in five years. "We did 98 shows this past year!!! I just want to chill, hoop and watch some movies," Kanye writes.

The Jonas Brothers are getting ready for 2009 by listing what they’re grateful for in 2008.
"There are probably not enough words to describe what an amazing year we have lived in 2008," the brothers wrote in a MySpace blog.
Nick, Joe and Kevin’s long list of thanks included: the opportunity to be on the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus tour; the launch of Camp Rock in the US and around the world; their first American Music Award for Breakthrough Artist; and their first ever Teen Choice Award and Kids Choice Award.
The New York Police Department may be calling for backup at the New Year’s Eve performance by Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas.
The Jonas Brothers are performing in Times Square for "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest" and NYPD sources say it could result in a "mob scene," according to People magazine.
"So they’re now planning on using extra [security] men for support," a source tells People. "It’s going to be crazy because everyone will be in Times Square to watch them perform on the show."

The Sticky & Sweet tour to promote Madonna’s album Hard Candy was the singer’s first venture since signing a deal with Live Nation, reportedly worth about $120 million.
