Set in a 1950s West Virginia town, October Sky follows the life of Homer Hickman (Jake Gyllenhaal), the teenage son of a coalminer who pushes his son to follow in his footsteps. Growing up in a town where coal is king, the citizens of Homer”s world can”t fathom pursuing a career in any other field. But when Homer”s classroom is informed of the Soviet launch of Sputnik, the satellite inspires Homer to learn everything he can about rockets, satellites, and inner-orbiting spacecraft. Goaded on by their teacher Frieda Riley (Laura Dern), Homer and his friends study the various aspects of a rocket launch and begin staging the launch of their own homemade rockets. But their trial and error experiments go awry, putting the local townspeople in the path of their errant rocket launches, and they incur the wrath and disdain of a community that views them as freaks and outcasts.
Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler Enters Rehab
Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler has reportedly entered rehab to seek treatment for an alleged prescription-painkiller addiction.
Tyler, 61, checked into a facility for pain management and his alleged addition to painkillers, stemming from years of orthopedic injuries, reports People.com.
"With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford," Tyler says in a statement to the site.
Taylor Swift and The Black Eyed Peas Join Grammy Lineup
The Recording Academy has announced a stellar lineup of performances for the "52nd Annual Grammy Awards." ET exclusively revealed on Monday that Beyonce would be taking the mic. Taylor Swift, The Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell, and country act Lady Antebellum will also have their chance to showcase their music in the spotlight.
Each of the performers are nominated for multiple awards on the big night. Leading the Grammy nominations is Beyonce with 10. Not far behind are Taylor Swift with eight and The Black Eyed Peas and Maxwell, with six apiece. Lady Antebellum is up for two trophies.
The Black Eyed Peas are creating an interactive forum with fans for their performance of "I Gotta Feeling." Fans can submit a 20 second video singing along to the Grammy nominated song, for the opportunity to have it stream in the background during the group’s live performance. The deadline for entries is January 15.

ET can confirm exclusively that Beyonce will perform at the 52nd Annual Grammys.
An inside source tells ET that Beyonce, who holds the most nominations at 10, will take the stage and perform a number.
