More distinguished in the Middle Ages for the cultivation of folk-music than that of the Church. Medieval England yet produced a very respectable body of theoretical writers, and to England belongs the credit of possessing the oldest piece of polyphonic and canonic composition known to be in existence, the old Northumbrian round, ‘Sumer is icumen in,’ which was transcribed by a monk of Reading called John of Fornsete, in the early years of the thirteenth century.
New Details: How Michael Jackson’s Children are Doing Now
ET has the latest on how Michael Jackson’s children are doing since the sudden death of the King of Pop. Read on for details
A source tells ET that "Prince" Michael, Paris, and "Blanket" each has his or her own room at the Jackson family compound in Encino, Calif.
In daughter Paris’ room, a wall is adorned with photos and artwork of Jackson — and ET has learned that Paris herself has created some of the artwork in honor of her late father.
Attorney: Dr. Arnie Klein is Committed to Well-Being of Michael Jackson’s Kids
The lawyer to Dr. Arnie Klein, former dermatologist and friend to Michael Jackson, talks about his client’s connection to the King of Pop and responds to reports that Dr. Klein may be the biological father to Jackson’s two eldest children.
Attorneys for Dr. Klein were present at the custody hearing of Jackson’s three children on August 3. The doctor wanted a say over the education and care of the kids. The court found that Klein had no standing to make that request and his legal team left the courtroom.
"Dr. Klein doesn’t feel that there’s any need for him to persuade or prove one way or the other whether or not he is the de facto provider of the paternal biological source for those children," attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan tells ET.
Glendale Police Dept. Estimates Cost of Security for Michael Jackson Burial
A spokesperson for the Glendale Police Department reveals to ET the cost of security for Michael Jackson’s burial service to be held on Thursday, September 3 at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The police department originally estimated that the safety measures for the service would cost an upwards of $50,000 when it was scheduled for Saturday, August 29. Now, due to the date changing to a weekday, a spokesperson tells ET that the cost may double or triple.
The increase in cost is due to a need for street closures from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. because of rush hour traffic, a school that will be in session across the street from Forest Lawn and the influx of media people covering the service. The Glendale police spokesperson says that these are situations that would not have needed to be considered had the burial service been held over the weekend.
