Beginning November in Indianapolis, the "Brady Bunch" and "Partridge Family" matriarchs will debut a multi-media concert series on stage with The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra — complete with clip reels, personal anecdotes, first time duets and classic songs from stage and screen.
Both ladies are veterans of the stage. Shirley has appeared in such musicals as The Sound of Music, South Pacific and Oklahoma (not to mention movie musicals such as ‘The Music Man,’ ‘Oklahoma’ and ‘Carousel’), while Florence has also performed in the same stage musicals as well as Fanny and The King And I.
Jonas Brothers Take ‘Much Needed’ Vacation
After completing their new CD and TV show, Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas are taking "some much needed time off."
"It is amazing to stop and rest but we can’t stop thinking about how much we want to sing and perform our new songs for you this year," the Jonas Brothers write on their MySpace blog.
The brothers won’t be sitting still for long! "Next week will be the premiere of our new Disney Channel TV show, ‘Jonas.’ We really hope you love it. We worked hard on it," the boys write.
Jennifer Hudson Returns Home on Tour
Jennifer Hudson makes it a family affair during her first hometown concert since her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were murdered in Chicago last year.
The Oscar and Grammy-winning singer appeared in concert Saturday night at the Arie Crown Theatre in Chicago’s McCormick Place, just eight miles from the home where she grew up, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Hudson is currently in the middle of a concert tour with Robin Thicke.
During her performance, Hudson dedicated the song "You Pulled Me Through" to family members who were in the audience. She also welcomed four of her cousins to the stage to sing a pair of a capella spiritual songs that brought the audience to its feet, the Sun-Times said.
Rihanna Asks Cops To Return $1.4 Million in Jewelry
Rihanna is asking Los Angeles police and prosecutors to return over a million dollars in expensive jewelry.
The Associated Press reports that the singer’s lawyer, Donald Etra, filed a motion this week asking that a pair of earrings and three rings worth a total of $1.4 million be returned to the singer.
Etra alleges that the singer was wearing the accoutrements on the night she was allegedly beaten by then-boyfriend Chris Brown, and that the jewelry was seized as evidence.
‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ Soundtrack Tops the Charts
The ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ soundtrack sets an impressive record for the year.
Matching its strong film debut, the film’s soundtrack has reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the first soundtrack to top the list this year. Last year, the only movie soundtracks to top the chart were ‘Juno,’ ‘Mamma Mia!’ and ‘Twilight,’ according to Billboard.com.
The soundtrack toppled Rascal Flatts’ Unstoppable to No. 3 on the charts, selling 133,000 copies during the week that ended on April 19, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
