Another problem HD may face is that the new DVD players have the upscaling technology ie. DVD is played at 480p but upscalers upgrade the image to 720p or 1080i. This produces a picture which is of high quality to the untrained eye, in fact even the trained eye has difficulty distinguishing between the two. The difference is seen on a 50 inch HD projector and looking right up close. So the question is will 1080p be much different to 1080i? Will people fork out the added expense when they know that a cheaper DVD upscaler will create more or less the same effect?

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

A well-written webpage is so pivotal to the sales process, that many professional copywriters will often rewrite bad sales letters. When they discover great products that they KNOW would sell if the products owners just had better copy, they will often rewrite bad sales letters, pre-sell the products, and then send the ‘ready-to-buy’ customers directly to the order form.

Taylor Swift Launches Dress Collection

Taylor Swift may be starting her own dress line but she doesn’t want to be called a designer.

The singer is teaming up with l.e.i. to create a collection of $14 dresses that will launch at Wal-Mart in February of this year.

"Sundresses are my favorite things to wear," Swift tells New York magazine. "In the summer, I automatically want to look bohemian."

New Video: Donny Osmond Won’t be on Next Season of ‘DWTS’

Donny Osmond sets the record straight with ET regarding the rumors that he will be a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars" this spring.

"I’m definitely not doing this upcoming season," Donny tells ET. "If there was an offer on the table, I’d do it in the fall. I would make room for it. Absolutely!"

Donny’s sister, Marie Osmond, was a contestant on the fifth season of "DWTS."

David Cook Heads Out On his First Solo Tour

"American Idol" champ David Cook heads out on his first-ever solo tour, "The Declaration Tour — 2009," in support of his eponymous album, released last November. The tour launches on Feb. 13 in Tallahassee, FL and continues through April 25 at various college campus and major venues around the country.

"I’m more than excited to hop on the road and support this record. This tour represents both a new beginning and a return to form for me," said Cook. "It’s our first full tour, and we’re all ready to pour whatever blood, sweat, and tears that we can muster into making this show, and every show from here on out, an experience. Part of that experience is bringing back this college tour idea. There’s something inherently nostalgic about playing college shows. So many amazing acts used to do it, so it’s nice to be able to bring that ideal back, in some small way. And besides, touring on a bus beats what we used to do, which was cram five guys into a seven passenger van for one show, 13 hours away… "

Cook’s first single, "The Time of My Life," recently went platinum, with over one million tracks sold. "The Time of My Life" is not only the biggest single debut but the highest selling debut single in "Idol"’s history.

Monday, January 26th, 2009

We wished her well and knew the production could not shoot around her or reschedule her. The practical choice was to release her from the film. It was a blessing in disguise. I had to do some re-writes to remove her character from the script. This allowed me not to fall in love with any scene or dialogue that wasn”t important to the film. It has been said that screenwriters should not fall in love with their own words. I agree!
