7.1-channel receivers are basically the same as 6.1-channel models, but they include yet another amp channel to drive a second back surround speaker. In this case, the audio information going to both back speakers is identical; it”s just distributed between the two back speakers to create an even more expansive rear sound field. The specifications for the new HD DVD and Blu-ray disc formats allow for soundtracks with up to 7.1 discrete audio channels. So while a 7.1-channel receiver might seem like overkill, right now it”s a more future-proof option than 5.1 and 6.1 models.

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

I wish it weren,t the case but, it”s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can”t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Comfort Of Strangers. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

Monday, September 29th, 2008

The first copy from a digital duplicator will be slower than from a photocopier but at speeds of up to 135 A4 pages per minute, and, remember, given that you will be printing at least 30 copies or prints at a time, the digital duplicator should in most cases be a lot quicker.

I’ve always been a sucker for movies that are a bit outside the norm

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Ive always been a sucker for movies that are a bit outside the norm. Hell, who am I kidding? I love movies that are way outside the norm. Sure, most of them may be doomed to box office failure and critical ridicule, but theyre a nice change of pace from the mindless drivel Hollywood routinely churns out. Now, dont get me wrong–I actually like some of the aforementioned mindless drivel, but variety, as they say, is the spice of life. Its just like pop music. Theres nothing wrong with liking Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake, but, if you dont occasionally broaden your horizons, youll end up with the intelligence of a stump (which might explain some of the people I see in my local Wal-Mart). And, as we all know, nothing will broaden your horizons like a cannibal film set in the 1800s and featuring liberal amounts of black humor, gore, and David Arquette.

Big (1988) – If ever there was a movie that speaks for the mantra “be careful what you wish for,”

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Big (1988) If ever there was a movie that speaks for the mantra be careful what you wish for, it was this one. Big tells us the tale of Josh Baskin, played by Tom Hanks, who wishes to be big on a magic carnival machine. He wakes up the next morning to find himself as a 13 year old boy trapped in a grown mans body. While this movie had many memorable moments, the most beloved came when Tom Hanks and Robert Loggia played Heart and Soul and Chopsticks with their feeton a giant, FAO Schwarz keyboard. Not only did this scene leave kids everywhere actually wanting to take piano lessons, but it left us falling instantly in love with Tom Hanks.

Mother of Clay Aiken’s Child: ‘He’s an Incredible Caregiver’

Jaymes Foster, Clay Aiken’s best friend and mother of his 7-week-old son Parker, says Aiken is an incredible caregiver and a natural father.

"As far as changing the diapers and seeing what’s wrong with [Parker] and getting him to go sleep, Clay’s a natural and he’s really, really good with that," Foster says.

The 50-year-old mother conceived with Aiken through in vitro fertilization and currently lives with the singer in his home in North Carolina.

When she gave birth to Parker, Foster tells People magazine, "It’s funny because we were both very relaxed from the minute he was born."

Justin Timberlake Goes for a Hole-In-One

Justin Timberlake is the new face of golf! The musician will be on the November issue of  Golf Digest in addition to hosting the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas from October 13-19 — which will air on the Golf Channel!

In Golf Digest, Timberlake talks about his love of the game and how it connects him with friends and family. His parents are renovating a golf course in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee that is set to reopen in July 2009.

For me, golf is one of those things where you go out and forget about everything else Timberlake says.

UPDATE: Clay Aiken Reveals He’s Gay

"It was the first decision I made as a father," Clay Aiken says about coming out as a gay man in the new issue of People. "I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things. I wasn’t raised that way, and I’m not going to raise a child to do that."

Clay makes the revelation in the next edition of the magazine, which hits stands this Friday. He will be pictured with his newborn son, Parker, and talk about the importance of being truthful regarding his sexuality.

"Whether it be having a child out of wedlock, or whether it be simply being a homosexual, it’s going to be a lot," he says regarding the reactions of his fans. Still, he says his fans "know that I’ve never intended to lie to anybody at all. … But if they leave, I don’t want them to leave hating me."

Travis Barker’s ex-wife Shanna Moakler thanked fans and supporters for "an outpouring of love and support" for the former Blink-182 drummer who was critically injured in a plane crash over the weekend and said the tragedy had forever changed their lives.

"There are not enough words to express how thankful we are for the outpouring of love and support we have received during this very difficult time. We can only ask for prayers as we heal and mourn the loss of our dear friends who we considered part of our family. Our lives will be changed forever," Shanna said through a rep.

Shanna was married to Barker from 2004 until earlier this year and the two have a daughter and a son together.
